Back in March during the first lock down Congleton Community Projects worked with the Town Council and other community groups in the town to create the Congleton COVID-19 Information line 01260 541815.
The line is still operating from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday if you need help or support during these difficult times. There is also lots of helpful information on all kinds of support services, shopping
and activities on the Town Council website
The Congleton Food and Drink Festival 2020 took plce on Sunday June 14th and went virtual
This year 2020 the Congleton Food & Drink Festival was nothing like it has been for the last 12 years. Our Town Centre streets were not heaving with 25,000 visitors and over 100 food and drink stalls but with a bit of imagination and basic technology the Festival Team brought to you a selection of top quality local producers who are still making, baking, brewing and cooking up treats.
Plus - on the day there were videos including a special cooking demo from our award winning chef Martin Webster and even a magic show with our favourite celebrated magician, Nick BarnesCheck website www.foodanddrinkfestival.net and Facebook @congletonfoodfestival
Christmas Light Switch-on and Grand Lantern Parade 2020
For the first time in nearly 30 years our traditional Christmas Light Switch-on and Grand Lantern Parade in Congleton Town Centre was cancelled because of the pandemic. We did have new lights in the pedestrian area and we made and streamed a short video of a mini switch on with the Town Mayor, Town Crier and of course special guest Santa. You can still find it on YouTube - Congleton Christmas Lights Switch On.
We also held some socially distanced lantern making workshops but just for families to have a lantern to turn on at home. Lets hope that 2021 will see a return to the parade and the event as, for sure, we all really missed it.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Saturday workshops at Spindle Mill to make a lantern and to all those who joined us for the special Grand Lantern Parade.
