Christmas Lights Switch-on 2021
Congleton’s Christmas Light Switch-on and Lantern Parade 2021 was held on Friday 26th November 4pm – 7pm.
The Christmas switch-on was a much smaller event this time with less of our usual razmatazz. But there was still a lot going on and there was plenty of room to move around which had been the aim of downsizing the event. The Charity stalls in the pedestrian area were really busy, quite a few local shops had tables out in front of their premises selling mulled wine and mince pies, and we even had a beautiful unicorn to wow the crowds as well as our entertaining reindeer stilt walkers. The lantern procession was able to parade down the High Street to the stage which was much more fun for those who had taken the time to make a lantern and join in. At 6.30 Blayke, Coooper and Poppy helped Santa turn on the lights. The town centre was beautifully lit throughout and the tree looked especially colourful this year.
Happy New Year from all of us at Congleton Community Projects. 2022 is going to be a busy one with the 750 celebrations – watch this space for up coming events and activities
