Baddeley Green Hedgehog Rescue Centre
Congleton Community can benefit from this Hedgehog rescue centre and can also find out all sorts of information about hedgehogs and their safety and or rescue
Beartown Rickshaw
Beartown Rickshaw offers free rickshaw rides to local beauty spots (Congleton park, Astbury Mere, Biddulph Valley Way) for those of any age who are unable to get out much for whatever reason. Or leave a message on 07927 969196. Volunteers (18+) always needed for pedalling the rickshaw, outriding (with your own cycle) and admin. The riding volunteers need to be used to cycling safely in traffic. Training on handling the rickshaw (an e-trike) is given. DBS checks essential – we organise and pay for these.
Bromley Bloomers
Gardening group that works on sites on Bromley Farm. Main site is the Friendship Garden on Hillary Avenue. Plant vegetables, flowers and wildflowers. Make bug hotels. Get free food.
Congleton Climate Action Group/Sustainable Travel
Congleton Climate Action Group is a grassroots organisation, part of Friends of The Earth, Tackling Climate Change and Biodiversity Emergency at a local level through peaceful discussion, education, engagement and Volunteer opportunities, all welcome.
Congleton Sustainable Travel is part of Congleton Climate Action Group, making Congleton safer and more accessible for local people to use the bus, train, cycles and walking, by engagement, discussion and education.
Congleton Repair Cafe
Congleton Repair Cafe operates out of The Old Sawmill community hub in Congleton, Cheshire. We run our events on the last Saturday of each month from 10-2pm. Please see our Facebook page to keep up to date with our events and more!
Congleton Sustainability Group (CSG)
CSG has developed well known projects including Congleton Apple Juice, saving Vale Allotments and raising £750,000 through the community share scheme for the Dane Valley Hydro Scheme. CSG supports Congleton Town Council to become Carbon Neutral by 2025, by training Councillors, householders & businesses through its Sustainable Living in Congleton (SLIC) courses.
Trees for Congleton
The Trees for Congleton group aims to plant 30,000 trees and shrubs, one for every resident of Congleton, to help mitigate the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss. New planting sites are always needed, and new volunteers would be welcomed to help with planting and maintenance.
