Christmas Lantern Workshops
Congleton Community Projects will once again be running the town’s traditional Christmas lantern-making workshops on Saturdays 9th/16th/23rd November leading up to the Christmas Lights Switch on on Friday 29th November. Workshops run from 10.30am – 3.30pm in the Electric Picture House, Spindle Mill, next to the Beartown Brewery. No skills are required and all ages are welcome with experienced makers on hand to help. All equipment is provided but a suggested £1.50 donation towards the cost of materials would be appreciated. You can then carry your lantern and be a part of the Grand Lantern Parade, which will be led by Karamba samba band and Santa in his sleigh at the Christmas lights switch-on.

Annual Events
Christmas Lights Switch-on
The Christmas Lights Switch-on and Grand Lantern Parade is part of Congleton’s annual Christmas event heralding the start of the festive season. The main event is organised by Congleton Town Council with support from CCP.
Congleton Play-day
Every summer, CCP hosts a Play Day in the Pedestrian Area from 10am-2pm. The day is based on the National Play Day which is taking place all over the country in August and is a celebration of children’s right to play, highlighting the importance of play and fun in children’s lives.
Food and Drink Festival
Congleton’s popular Food and Drink Festival started in 2009 with just 40 stalls. Now there are over 100. It is held annually on the second Sunday in June and brings 20,000+ visitors to our town.
